Final day of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

In today’s “Top Stories,” we look at some of the AI-related stories from the past 48 hours at Mobile World Congress. Though traditionally a telecom-focused event, the GSMA has turned it into a broader showcase of the entire mobile technology ecosystem, with AI now featured as a core, built-in capability of telecom networks. And, conversely, telecom networks as the “fiber highway” for data centers and AI infrastructure.  AI’s latency, bandwidth, and data sovereignty requirements require AI-Native connectivity (like 5G-Advanced and 6G) and an “intelligent fabric” for high-performance uplinks and integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). RCRTech will continue to cover the networking and fiber-optic infrastructure components of AI infrastructure. Stay tuned.

Nebius AI factory approved: In Missouri, Nebius welcomed the Independence City Council’s vote to approve its planned AI factory campus – a multi-building campus on approximately 400 acres — which has potential capacity of up to 1.2 GW.
