Today Marvell Technology was named the “Bull of the Day” by Zacks Equity Research, highlighting the company’s strength in the AI and data center markets. As RCRTech recently reported, Marvell has made a push into connectivity with its acquisition of Celestial AI.

By leveraging advanced optical interconnects, Marvell’s AI data center connectivity could help overcome some of the data bottlenecks and power consumption issues plaguing large-scale AI systems.

The Celestial deal also poses a challenge to Nvidia’s proprietary NVLink, with Celestial AI’s Photonic Fabric providing an open-standard alternative for connecting GPUs. It’ll be interesting to see if other chipmakers, such as AMD, Intel, or even custom-silicon companies like Amazon (AWS) capitalize on the alternative to achieve higher performance with light rather than traditional copper.

Marvell anticipates “meaningful” revenue contributions from Celestial AI’s technology, projecting an annualized run rate of $500 million by late fiscal 2028, potentially doubling to $1 billion a year later.
