Musk predicts 'hundreds-of-billions' in Starlink 'connectivity' revenue

Connectivity is foundational for AI Infrastructure, and massive, low-latency data pipelines are going to be essential for carrying continuous data streams from edge devices worldwide. Satellite S-band and terrestrial 800MHz frequencies will solve the indoor-penetration and global-reach bottleneck, while smaller radios at homes and businesses will create a dense network for edge AI processing.

Elon Musk on his earnings call this week talked about the “clear path” to what he deemed to be “several-hundred-billion-dollars” in connectivity revenue, which James Blackman details in his article, “SpaceX eyes ‘hundreds-of-billions’ of Starlink revenue, as AI see-saws on ROI.”

SpaceX’s SI business has already generated $7.56 billion in Q3 revenue, with $16.4 billion in AI Capex. Reportedly, Musk’s goal is “$500 billion to $1trillion” of annual recurring revenue by the end of 2027.

Musk has said we can “Expect a fuller explanation, and a proper timeline in due course.”
