Private 5G momentum builds

Private 5G is entering a new phase of maturity — and the players leading the charge are redefining what “enterprise-grade connectivity” really means.

In the U.S., T-Mobile has unveiled Edge Control, a hybrid 5G-Advanced service that blurs the line between public and private networks. Designed to deliver private-network-like performance without the cost or complexity, the solution combines T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G-Advanced infrastructure with local breakout capabilities for low-latency, high-security enterprise connectivity. The carrier — historically an underdog in the business segment — is positioning Edge Control as a practical on-ramp for industries eager to tap private 5G benefits without building dedicated infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Future Technologies is preparing to take the top spot among U.S. private 5G integrators. The Atlanta-based firm announced a strategic recapitalization with Battle Investment Group, giving it the financial firepower to acquire competitors and expand its footprint across industrial and defense sectors. The company expects to become North America’s largest private 5G provider within a year, capitalizing on rising demand for AI-enabled automation, robotics, and IoT deployments.

Outside the U.S., China Mobile continues to demonstrate the scale of 5G’s global engine. The operator reported steady growth in the first nine months of 2025 — modest increases in revenue, profit, and subscriber base — reinforcing its position as the world’s largest mobile carrier and a key benchmark for nationwide 5G adoption.

Private and hybrid 5G are shifting from pilot phase to commercial reality — not only transforming industrial operations, but reshaping the enterprise connectivity landscape itself.
