From chips to cloud cores, from spectrum strategy to next-generation networks, the network landscape is shifting quickly.
At the silicon layer, Qualcomm is building an ambitious edge AI strategy that reaches far beyond the smartphone. Through targeted acquisitions and developer-focused initiatives, the company is positioning itself to power AI workloads across devices, networks, and industrial environments — a foundational step in realizing the promise of AIoT.
Spectrum strategy is also evolving. A senior U.S. official reaffirmed the country’s commitment to 6 GHz Wi-Fi, while Broadcom and Spectrum showcased how expanded spectrum access can supercharge next-generation wireless. And in Malaysia, YTL Communications launched the nation’s first 5G-Advanced service, putting it among early global adopters of the next-generation standard.
Even network-sharing models are being reexamined, with operators weighing the pros and cons of MOCN and MORAN architectures for multi-operator coverage on CBRS spectrum — and exploring alternatives.
The throughline across all of this: Connectivity is no longer just about faster speeds. It’s about smarter infrastructure, tighter integration, and positioning for a future where intelligence moves closer to the edge.
