Happy Monday! As the test and measurement industry continues to mature, strategic partnerships will be key to unlocking new opportunities and entering the mainstream. And T&M vendors seems to have taken note.

In a new alliance, Nokia and Rohde & Schwarz this week announced the joint development of a 6G radio receiver that could be key to unlocking enhanced coverage for 6G networks. Loaded with AI and machine learning capabilities, the product was incubated at Nokia Bell Labs’ laboratory, and tested using R&S’s test equipment and methodologies.

When tested under real-world conditions, the new 6G radio receiver revealed uplink distance gains of 10% to 25%, according to Nokia, meaning operators can potentially deploy 6G at a reduced cost and time by leveraging existing 5G infrastructure.

The news came on the heels of Keysight and Synopsys’ announcements of new collaborations with Nvidia at GTC. Synergies like these highlight the interconnectedness of the ecosystem, and the role vendors on each side play in fostering broader innovation and growth. For more news, keep reading.
