Amphenol-CommScope the latest in consolidation trend

The continued consolidation of connectivity and AI infrastructure reveals a growing demand for high-capacity, low-latency connectivity in 5G, AI, and edge computing. This trend is evident in today’s news that Anphenol has completed its $10.5 billion cash acquisition of CommScope, and in the news that Meta is unifying its data center and network oversight for tighter coordination across network performance and power delivery. These are indicators that companies need to merge connectivity and AI infrastructure assets, as was evident in the wave of 2025 M&A deals to combine networking hardware, AI software, and data centers:

Aligned Data Centers Acquisition by Nvidia, Microsoft, and BlackRock ($40 Billion)

– Marvell / XConn Technologies ($540 Million)

– Broadcom / VMware ($61 Billion)

– HPE / Juniper Networks ($14 Billion)

– AMD / ZT Systems ($4.9 Billion)

With this latest Amphenol deal, the company elevates its position in AI and fiber optic interconnect — both crucial for AI and cloud infrastructure and applications.
With a more complete portfolio, Amphenol will become a more formidable player in next-gen data centers and communications networks. Additionally, the CCS business is expected to add substantial revenue of around $4.1 billion in 2026.
