Broadcom, Blackstone $60B mega-syndicate will help Anthropic
Following disclosures from Anthropic’s IPO filing, Broadcom’s Wall Street syndicate is gathering $60 billion in financing to fund AI chips for Anthropic and other firms. Blackstone is making the deal more attractive for Wall Street lenders by anchoring part of the deal with an $18 billion Class B junior debt tranche.
Â
Approximately $9 billion will come directly from Blackstone’s private credit and insurance funds, with the remaining $9 billion of the junior tranche syndicated to other institutional investors.
Â
This follows the precedent of Blackstone’s deal earlier this summer, in which it partnered with Apollo and Broadcom to launch the AI XPV Platform in order to fund 20 GW of global AI deployments, kicking off with a $35 billion package that initially offloaded Anthropic’s heavy server leases onto a specialized private credit framework.
