Ericsson targets enterprise amid flat RAN

Home RCR Wireless News Ericsson targets enterprise amid flat RAN

Ericsson is preparing for another difficult year in the radio access network (RAN) market, while shifting more attention toward enterprise, mission-critical networks, and software-led growth.

The company said it expects the global RAN market to remain flat in 2026, extending a prolonged slowdown as operators continue to limit network spending. Despite this, Ericsson delivered organic growth in the final quarter of 2025 by leaning on areas outside traditional RAN. “Our Q4 results demonstrate solid execution of our strategy priorities,” said CEO Börje Ekholm, pointing to growth in mission-critical networks, 5G core, and enterprise, even in a “flattish RAN market environment.”

The Nordic vendor also reported improved margins and cash flow, marking its ninth straight quarter of year-on-year adjusted EBITA margin expansion. The company said it continues to invest in R&D, with a focus on AI-native, secure, and autonomous mobile networks, while maintaining a strong cash position.

Looking ahead, Ekholm said growth is expected to come from mission-critical and enterprise markets, where Ericsson believes it is well positioned. In parallel, the company plans to increase investments in defense in 2026, while continuing to control costs to protect margins and cash generation.
