advances

Across the tech corridors of Texas, network infrastructure expansion is underway. Gigabit Fiber, which operates an approximately 500 route miles of conduit connecting approximately 50 data centers in the region, is tapping Nokia for its latest build.

The fiber optic infrastructure provider will use Nokia’s optical network technology to enable on-net turn-ups in days across the cities of Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and Phoenix. Leveraging Nokia’s 1830 Global Express (GX) optical platform that provides scalable bandwidth with energy efficiency, Gigabit Fiber’s network will link the four metros, connecting the AI data centers and enterprise hubs in the region with high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity.

With such rapid infrastructure expansion works in progress, test capabilities like fiber testing, service assurance, network benchmarking, active assurance and infrastructure validation, are becoming foundational to delivering faster communication networks. Fresh investments in testing amid demand surges in hyperscalers, AI data centers, and enterprises, underscore this shift.
